Dancing will keep your body and mind healthy

In an article from National Geographic it is mention that research shows that moving to music with others reduces symptoms of depression more than walking, yoga, or even standard treatments and calls it group therapy.


As the world is a very problematic at the moment, and I love to go out dancing, I am happy to know that I do a preventive job for myself which is now backed up by science. I have for a long time known that it is my release from the busy week days and I can stay on the dance floor for hours at a time.


The article, Why dancing can be more powerful the antidepressants, writs: “For centuries, communities have turned to dance not only for celebration but for ritual and healing. Long before scientists tracked brain waves or measure neurotransmitters, dancers had an intuitive understanding of the power of moving together. Now the research is starting to catch up”.


Skin moisture tip for going out dancing


To keep myself looking fresh when I am out dancing I make sure I am well moisturised by using layers. My layers contain skin serum, face oil, moisturiser or repair creme, SPF sunscreen. Each layer needs time to absorbed into the skin and depending on the weather and skin condition I also lock up the moisture by adding petrolatum on top - This is great for dry and cold conditions like the cold weather in Scandinavia, airplans, air condition rooms etc. I use Ceridal, fatty cold cream but there is a lot of products on the marked. When I am away from home for hours, I have for years brought a small pocket size jar of face moisturiser/SPF, so I can re-apply doing the day/night - just like when you use a lip balm on your lips. This will keep your skin healthy looking for hours and also for the longer run in life.


Remember it is important to protect you skin from the sun by using SPF sunscreen for outside dancing on festivals, concerts, beach parties or other. I see a lot of red faces doing the summer because all the events move outside in the sun which I enjoy very much myself.


So get yourself out on the dance floor. It is great for your body, mind and soul.
